The RoPax ferries ordered by Australia’s TT-Line were delivered from the Rauma shipyard in 2025. The MyStar class ships are designed for a specific route, connecting mainland Australia with the island state of Tasmania. This brought additional challenges, as the Bass Strait is known for particularly demanding sea conditions. Planneri was involved in extensive basic and production design projects for these ships.

The ships – often referred to as “Tasmanians” at the shipyard – can each carry 1,800 passengers and have over 4,000 lane metres of cargo capacity. They operate on liquefied natural gas and diesel.

At their home port, the ships have been highly anticipated, as they play a vital role in supply security. They are also expected to boost tourism and economic activity in Tasmania.
