Aurora Botnia (Wasaline)

Aurora Botnia, ordered by the Finnish–Swedish joint venture Kvarken Link, was delivered from the Rauma shipyard in 2021. The shipping company Wasaline has been very satisfied with the environmentally friendly ship, whose engines can operate on liquefied natural gas, as well as biogas and battery power.

Operating between Vaasa and Umeå, Aurora Botnia has set new records for both passenger and freight volumes, while the carbon dioxide emissions have been cut in half. The ship offers 1,500 lane metres of cargo capacity and can carry up to 935 passengers.

In addition to the design work, Planneri also took part in supporting the ships’s construction process.
